It has been years
I gave us time to forget
I let flowers bloom and fade
I let leaves wither with maturity
I gave myself time to
make you a comforting imagination
Not a disturbing reality
A person you won’t recognize
if you met in my poems
I waited like a closed
envelope that no one
dares to open
I stood like the
longest word in dictionary
that not many understood
Nor had the patience
to figure out
Off late I am taken up
with simple words
“Like”
“Hug”
“Not a snow man paper weight!”
